Transparency. A term used widely in regard to how people want to receive and access information concerning areas like: health care, government buying contracts, financial information on publicly held companies and financial institutions. Consumers demand access to information in all these areas; and are finally getting it.
With the new technology that surrounds us and continues to evolve daily, customers should be able access their account information, billing, service histories and leasing details at any time. In the office equipment industry, this is not always the case. Unfortunately, many customers have no other choice but to depend on requesting this information from vendors via inconvenient processes. When choosing an office equipment dealer, it is important to take into account their level of technological advancement. In times of economical change, businesses that stay ahead technologically will come out stronger.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Does your vendor provide a customer web portal allowing full access to your account, is it easy to navigate and set up?
- What information is available to you?
- If your vendor doesn’t provide this resource are they hiding something?
Demand the right to your account information and only deal with companies that provide these tools in an easy and convenient manner.
